During our anonymous visit to the studio, our coach delivered a high-energy, engaging workout that was also challenging. The well-structured session featured clear instructions and guidance on pacing, as well as personalized encouragement which kept us motivated. The coach also did a great job of adjusting the difficulty level for everyone in the class, which worked well for our Experience Evaluator as they were new to boxing.

The atmosphere was a real highlight, with an energetic playlist and strong community engagement, with the coach actively connecting with participants. The session was wrapped up with a smooth cooldown that brought us down slowly and left us feeling both accomplished and energized!

The experience at Rumble Boxing in Flatiron has won two of our awards, The Fit Guide Award of Excellence and our Class Experience Award of Excellence.

Orangetheory Fitness - Manhattan-Plaza District

Address 715 Lexington Ave, New York, NY 10022

One thing’s for sure, the team at Orangetheory Fitness (OTF) are all 100% dedicated to making sure everyone has a great experience.

Each workout offers the trademark OTF run, row, and strength components. There’s a lot of action in each class between the heart rate monitor screen, the custom-built interactive screens on the treadmill and rower, and the screens showing the strength workout.

Orangetheory understands this and does a solid job of ensuring newcomers to the concept know what's going on and what everything means. The Manhattan-Plaza District branch stood out for having a very caring and friendly coach who gave extra attention to first timers before, during, and after the session, and made sure they felt comfortable and looked-after.

If you’re looking for community vibes, a supportive and inclusive atmosphere and slick, fresh facilities, Orangetheory Manhattan-Plaza District is a top choice.

Orangetheory Fitness Manhattan-Plaza District won both of our highest awards: The Fit Guide 5-Star Award and our 5-Star Class Experience Award.

Barry's - East 64th

Address 1216 2nd Ave, New York, NY 10065, United States

On our visit to the club, the coach delivered a well-structured workout suited for those comfortable with a fast pace, whilst still offering easier options for beginners. We were offered clear instructions and smooth transitions between 'tread' and 'floor' (as they call the two workout zones in a Barry's class), which created an engaging atmosphere. This was further enhanced by a lively playlist and boundless enthusiasm and energy from our coach. Their recognition of client milestones on the wall outside the studio fostered a strong sense of community and was a nice touch.

As we've come to expect at Barry's, the public areas, amenities and standard of equipment were all world-class, completing a great visit and experience.

Barry's East 64th has won two of our awards for 2025: The Fit Guide Award of Excellence and our Class Experience Award of Excellence.

Address 211 N 11th St, Brooklyn, NY 11211

Looking for a top strength studio in Brooklyn? MADabolic offers one of New York’s best strength sessions and is a must-try if you’d like to get serious about lifting.

Outside of the class, the reception team was very personable and thoroughly explained exactly what we needed to know and should expect from the main event - the class itself.

The workout experience was well-structured and expertly coached by an enthusiastic and attentive instructor. Workout programs at MADabolic are pre-planned in advance in 2-week ‘microcycles’ by co-founders Brandon Cullen and Kirk DeWaele, with the aim of delivering the diverse yet consistent training style that they’re known for.

F45 had a strong 2024, with a range of new partnerships and additions to their concept - including a HYROX gym affiliation deal, new strength training equipment and expansion of their sister brands, VAURA Pilates and FS8. With around 2,000 studios in their network, F45 Flatiron has emerged as one of their highest performing locations.

During our anonymous visit, the coach delivered an outstanding class, blending professionalism, attentiveness, and expertise. From the start, they were welcoming and engaging, ensuring we, as first timers to the studio, felt at ease and knew what to do. The whole team at F45 Flatiron did a great job of personalizing the experience too, by learning names and checking in throughout the workout.

Expect a class with smooth transitions, clear explanations, and tailored coaching - with pumping playlists and a fun, energetic vibe to complete a five-star experience.

F45 Flatiron has won both of our highest awards, The Fit Guide 5-Star Award and our 5-Star Class Experience Award.

Liftonic

Address 13 Gansevoort St, New York, NY 10014

The inspiration for LIFTONIC was to offer a ‘fresh alternative in a fitness world dominated by high-intensity cardio-based workouts’, and this is consistent with our in-person experience at the studio. The workout was a nice change of pace from the heart-pounding sweat sessions, offering more slow, deliberate, and loaded movements.

The coach expertly catered the class to all experience levels, all while maintaining a fun, positive attitude and providing a lot of care and attention to each client. Our evaluator liked the balance between taking strength work seriously, whilst ensuring the environment was inclusive and supportive.

Whether you’re starting out your strength training journey or are just looking for a change of environment, LIFTONIC is a great option.

LIFTONIC won The Fit Guide Award Of Excellence and our highest 5-Star Class Experience Award.
