Founded in 2004, CycleBar is one of the largest indoor-cycling companies in the world with over 200 locations opened, with an additional 200 franchises sold. What To Expect From A CycleBar Session

CycleBar is a premium indoor cycling offering that delivers high-energy, music-driven rides in a fun, supportive, and inclusive environment.

CycleBar offers a range of classes, from beginner to advanced, led by experienced and certified instructors. The studio features high-end technology to enhance the experience, including LED lighting, sound systems, and a performance tracking leaderboard.

The Reception Service

The phone inquiry was efficient and enthusiastic, with clear and accurate details about their facilities, class options, and intro packages. While the conversation was professional, a more personal touch—like asking about our fitness background—would have enhanced the experience.

Check-in was smooth, with a warm greeting and an orientation of the space. While the staff was friendly and professional, interactions felt a bit transactional, with no questions about our experience or fitness goals. Departure was similarly polite, though there was no proactive effort to encourage a return visit or discuss membership options.

The Class Experience

CycleBar NoHo has received The Fit Guide Award Of Excellence for its excellent class experience.

The cycling class was a well-structured and engaging workout, with a smooth flow and clear, confident instruction. Our coach was well-prepared and knowledgeable, ensuring we felt supported throughout the session. Music was effectively used to set the pace, and first-timers received helpful setup guidance and cues to adjust intensity as needed.

The class started slightly late and ran over by five minutes, which may have been inconvenient for some. While the coach created a welcoming atmosphere, learning clients’ names and offering personalized encouragement would have elevated the experience. A follow-up post-class was also missed. Despite these small areas for improvement, the coach’s enthusiasm and energy made for an enjoyable session.

The Equipment And Studio

The studio was nicely designed, with high-quality Schwinn bikes and well-maintained equipment. Each bike featured the studio’s branding, including its name, logo, and signature red lights under each occupied station, adding a cohesive and premium touch.

The training area was clean, fresh, and comfortable, with adequate space for safe movement. The dim lighting, enhanced by red accents and a coach-controlled spotlight, created an immersive and branded atmosphere. The red lights around the perimeter and the illuminated studio name further elevated the strong sense of brand.

The high-quality sound system delivered a powerful audio experience, rounding out an impressive session.

The Facilities And Public Areas

The club’s public areas had a sleek, industrial design with gray and red accents, high ceilings, and well-integrated branding elements like red lighting and logos. While the locker area was organized, its placement outside the changing rooms required us to carry items back and forth to the showers. Both workout and shower towels were complimentary.

The individual showers provided privacy, though we noticed some minor cleanliness issues. Amenities like hand wash, body lotion, and deodorant were well-stocked, though hand towels were missing. Water refill stations were available, and paid beverage options, including energy drinks, were offered, though no food options were available.

Digital And Technology

The booking process was smooth and efficient, with a user-friendly website and app making it easy to reserve a class.

The website was well-designed, mobile-friendly, and visually aligned with the brand. Branch-specific pages provided useful details, though coach bios and an up-to-date blog were missing. Social media was active and engaging, accurately showcasing the client experience, though a class schedule wasn’t available on these platforms.

In-class technology, such as CycleStats for tracking performance metrics, enhanced the experience with personalized post-class results.

Cyclebar offers a first ride for $10 or a three-pack for $49.

If you’re looking for a longer-term commitment, memberships are available from $129 for four classes per month up to $279 for unlimited classes.

Drop-in sessions are available at $38 per class.
