What to Expect From An Xtend Session
Xtend offers a group class concept that’s influenced by dance, Barre and Pilates.
The brand offers two Core Xtend Programs in the form of Xtend Barre and Xtend Pilates. These offer a more traditional approach, working towards strengthening your body and mind through low-intensity exercises and movements.
Other classes such as Xtend Suspend and Circuit 7 use equipment not typically found in Barre classes, like the TRX.
The Reception Service
Our pre-visit calls to the branch went unanswered. When we arrived, the instructor, who was also in charge of checking people in, was busy coaching a class. Check in was quick and functional before the class started.
After the class, the instructor was upbeat and friendly, telling us she’d be in touch to give us more information about continuing our training.
The Class Experience
Xtend Bondi Junction received The Fit Guide 4-Star Class Experience Award, making it one of Sydney’s stand-out offerings.
Our instructor was very friendly and outgoing, smiling the entire time. She coupled these good vibes with extensive knowledge of Barre, helping multiple people with their form and offering regressions and progressions where needed. She seemed to know many of the clients on a personal level which helped build a real community spirit.
The members also played their part, helping us out when we didn’t know where to find some equipment.
The class finished a few minutes late but we were invited to leave if we were tight on time.
The Equipment And Studio
The equipment and studio were all very clean and in good condition. Discreet branding elements were present with several prominent lit-up ‘X' signs in the studio contributing to a distinctive and strong look.
The studio aesthetic was completed with impressive overhead lighting effects that the coach changed at multiple points during the class.
The Facilities And Public Areas
Towels and lockers were not provided. There was no free water refill station.
There were no showers at the club and the unisex changing area, whilst clean, was limited in space.
Digital And Technology
XTEND’s brand was presented well through their website, social media platforms and email communications. The app was attractive, well-designed and provided good functionality.
