What to Expect From A The Yard Session
Classes at The Yard are designed to be not just challenging and intense, but also extremely rewarding. 50-minute Rig and Sweat sessions are offered throughout the week with one-hour, team-focused Pay Day classes on Saturday mornings.
Rig is focused on barbell training and compound lifts. Turf classes are cardio-focused, utilizing the Assault Bike, Ski-erg and stationary bikes.
The Yard’s weekly Pay Day classes are “built around hard work and teamwork”, helping you motivate your partners, train hard and connect with the community.
The Reception Service
Our pre-visit call to the branch got us excited for the visit, as the operator told us all about the great community at the club.
In the branch, the team was warm, friendly and attentive throughout all of our interactions. We were welcomed strongly, given a tour of the club and, after the session, they checked in with us to see how we enjoyed it.
Staff were comfortable and confident when discussing our options to continue training at The Yard.
The Class Experience
The Yard Darlinghurst received The Fit Guide 4-Star Class Experience Award, making it one of Sydney’s stand-out offerings.
The class was structured very well and offered a good change of pace from some other concepts, with a real focus on lifting heavy and taking more time to rest.
During the session, the coaches were fun and made an effort to connect with everyone, helping to create a powerful and attractive community vibe.
The Equipment And Studio
The club had a wide range of high-quality equipment, which was more than enough to fulfill the needs of the busy class.
Branding throughout the club added to the client experience, completing a slick and attractive studio design. Everything was clean and in good condition.
The Facilities And Public Areas
Workout towels were provided, but shower towels and lockers were not. Free water refill stations were available.
One shower was available in the club, which was clean and in good condition. The public areas' design did not match the striking aesthetic of the workout space.
Digital And Technology
We were not able to book our session through the website, with our booking taking place over email with the club. TVs were used in the studio to display the workout, which was helpful.
