What Our Evaluator Had To Say

“It never felt like the instructor was pushing the class too hard, although discreet options were offered to more advanced people.”

“The instructor cleverly changed the mood of the class by adjusting the lights and music.”

“The sleek design of the entrance and waiting room provided a wonderful sense of arrival at the club.”

What to Expect From A SOMA Collection Session

SOMA Collection offer a range of classes, made up of multiple modalities such as HIIT, Boxing, Pilates, Yoga and Barre. The club pride themselves on their personable approach, limiting many of their classes to a maximum of 12 participants.

Vinyasa Flow and restorative Yin yoga classes are on offer at SOMA Collection, as well as barre sessions that are described as “a high-intensity and low-impact complete body workout”.

For an especially intense workout, a boxing session will test your cardio abilities while integrating lower-body compound exercises. The HIIT sessions use Metabolic Conditioning (Metcon) training, aiming to “chisel your body using resistance training in conjunction with high-intensity cardio-based challenges”.

The Reception Service

Our pre-visit call to the branch was very thorough and informative, with the operator showing interest in us and our training.

On arrival, we were checked in efficiently with a full tour of the club offered. We were also advised where to wait for our session to start.

After the class, the staff member we initially spoke with was unsure about the package options, but another member of staff came over to offer more information.

The Class Experience

SOMA Collection received our Recommended rating for the Class Experience.

The class started well, as the instructor approached us before the class and asked how we were feeling. She was clearly knowledgeable about Pilates and she did a good job of offering tougher options for the exercises, without pushing everyone to go too hard.

As a first-time visitor to the studio and a newcomer to Pilates, more individual attention and coaching would have enhanced our experience.

The Equipment And Studio

The lighting was the highlight of the studio space, as there were several rows of adjustable bulb lights hanging from the ceiling. Lights surrounding the mirrors and above the curtains completed a premium and special feel.

The studio and equipment were all clean and in great condition.

The Facilities And Public Areas

Workout and shower towels were provided free of charge. Lockers were provided with number locks. Free water refill stations were available.

There was an impressive sense of arrival at the club, with large gold double doors lit up with lights at the entrance. The reception area was very tidy and all staff members wore professional uniforms.

The waiting area was especially impressive and unique, as there were four rows of seating facing four televisions which played video loops of tropical islands. The large, live, plants created a nice, natural feel to the public areas.

The changing and wet areas were all very tidy and well-equipped, offering multiple straightening irons in the women's bathroom, alongside high-end Dyson hair dryers. The sauna was located in the women's bathroom, completing a range of very impressive facilities and amenities.

Digital And Technology

The booking process was simple and the website was easy to navigate. We did not receive a booking confirmation or suggested arrival times for our first session at the club, although we did receive a welcome email and receipt of purchase.
