The AGOGA Story

AGOGA, founded by John Field in 2012, is a premier HIIT and functional training brand. Their training philosophy revolves around the mantra "We Train Like Athletes", aiming to introduce the holistic approach athletes take towards fitness to everyone.

AGOGA fosters a supportive and ego-free environment that aims to bring out the best in their diverse community. Currently, AGOGA operates from a single location in Bondi, where they offer exceptional training programs and have created a vibrant community.

In addition to their class and PT offerings, AGOGA organizes events such as specialist workshops and masterclasses. Past activities have included mobility and kettlebell-focused masterclasses, as well as group outdoor excursions such as abseiling and kayaking.

“The coach was always checking to see if the class was at the right intensity for us.”

“Notable lighting features and a striking color scheme throughout the studio were interesting.”

What to Expect From An AGOGA Session

AGOGA’s philosophy is based on training like an athlete, and that fitness is about more than just “going hard at the gym”. Expert coaches ensure that classes are at the correct intensity and that recovery is more than an afterthought.

Dumbbells, Kettlebells, and TRXs feature prominently in AGOGA's strength sessions, complemented by treadmills, rowing machines and bikes in their more cardiovascular-focused classes.

AGOGA have five different class types, with class types such as Faster, Leaner, Stronger as well as their Signature class and Circuit training sessions.

Classes at AGOGA can be adapted to suit all abilities, although the club does recommend the Strength class as an ideal starting point for those new to functional training.
