What to Expect From A STRONG Pilates Holland Village Session
STRONG Pilates offers a mix of Pilates and rowing on their signature “Rowformer” machine, offering a “high intensity, low impact” workout. Part Concept 2 rower, part reformer, this unique piece of kit delivers a powerful blend of resistance and cardio work.
Often referred to amongst its fans as simply ‘STRONG’, this fast-growing company recently added Concept 2 bikes to some of their machines to offer more depth to their cardio choices.
Classes include Strong Loaded which uses heavy springs for a strength challenge; Strong Body for a well-rounded full-body Pilates-inspired workout; Strong Sweat, which is more cardio-heavy, and sessions that are pure Cardio and Pilates.
The Reception Service
Our experience at the front desk was friendly and easy to move through, with a warm greeting and quick check in that helped us settle in without fuss. Package options were explained clearly, and the earlier phone enquiry had already set expectations well, with a helpful and upbeat tone that gave us confidence ahead of the visit.
There were a few moments where the welcome could have felt more personal. A clearer orientation on arrival and a bit more engagement before class would have helped. The departure was polite and efficient, though slightly understated. Overall, the reception team made the visit pleasant and informative, even if a few small touches were missing.
The Class Experience
STRONG Pilates Holland Village received our Recommended Rating.
The class had a fun, lively rhythm, with a mix of exercises that kept things moving at a steady pace. Instructions were clear and professional, and the form cues and progressions supported the workout without breaking its flow. It was an engaging session, with enough options to adjust intensity depending on how we were feeling.
The experience would have benefited from a bit more connection. There were no introductions or injury check, and first timers were not acknowledged. The class also finished without a cooldown, which made the ending feel abrupt. Even so, the structure and coaching quality made it an enjoyable and effective session.
The Equipment And Studio
The studio stood out for its polished design and attention to detail. The space felt fresh, modern and aligned with the brand, with concrete floors, textured walls and branded props that added character without distraction. Equipment was in excellent condition and well stocked, including the Rowformer and Concept2 machines, which helped the training experience feel considered and high quality.
Lighting, spacing and sound worked well together to create a focused workout atmosphere, and the layout allowed everyone to move comfortably. While the design prioritised cohesion over bold architectural features, the studio still felt impressive, comfortable and energising to train in.
The Facilities And Public Areas
The public areas were clean, modern and well maintained, creating a positive first impression. The changing rooms were spacious, with backlit mirrors and tidy grooming stations that felt practical and considered. Showers delivered strong, consistent pressure and were in good condition, with neatly presented towels and a covered towel drop that kept the space organised.
There were a few practical limitations. Lockers did not include hangers, amenities were fairly limited and seating areas were small, which could be challenging at peak times. The club was also slightly hard to spot due to minimal signage at street level. Once inside, however, the space felt polished and welcoming, helped by floor-to-ceiling windows that brought in plenty of natural light.
Digital And Technology
The booking process was smooth and intuitive, with a clean website that reflected the brand and made it easy to choose a class or package. Schedules, first-timer information and purchase options were laid out clearly, which helped us feel prepared ahead of the visit.
The wider digital experience was reliable and easy to use, supported by a branded app that simplified booking and schedule management. Emails were personalised and informative, though they felt fairly basic and lacked the visual identity seen elsewhere. Social media stood out, giving a clear and energetic snapshot of the studio atmosphere and what to expect in class.
