“The coach was asking questions during the workout about how I was feeling, which I appreciated as it helped him tweak the exercises to cater to my needs.”

What to Expect From A Division Athletics Session

Division Athletics (often shortened to “Division” amongst their devoted following) has quickly become established as one of Singapore’s leading independent strength and conditioning facilities.

Division offers three class types - their 55-minute Strength program is delivered in 12-week cycles and focuses on progressive overload, with sessions further broken down into Hypertrophy, Strength, and Power. Expect fundamental movements such as squats, deadlifts, pushes and pulls, with results tracked to ensure progression.

Their Conditioning sessions are 45 minutes long and deliver intense cardio work using rowers, air bikes, ropes, slam balls and free weights. Conditioning class types include Aerobic, Anaerobic and Flux Cardio, with each working on different energy pathways.

Coalition is their hybrid class, offering a mix of both cardio and strength work.

The Reception Service

Our pre-visit call to the branch was thorough, and left us feeling ready for a great session.

On arrival, registration was quick and a brief but an informative orientation was given before the class. After the session, the coach handled the check out and was able to answer questions on the packages, although the music volume of the class made it hard to hear.

The Class Experience

Division Athletics received our Recommended rating for the Class Experience.

Our coach was clearly knowledgeable about training and the program, offering detailed explanations of each exercise. They appeared to be enjoying the session and were focusing closely on each client’s form and technique.

Parts of the workout were hard to follow as the on-screen timer didn’t match what our coach was telling us.

As the class ended, the coach gave a fist bump with us, rounding off a positive session.

The Equipment And Studio

Despite being underground, the training area was well-lit, with nice brand and lighting design elements throughout. All equipment was high-quality and the space was clean and in great condition.

The Facilities And Public Areas

Workout and shower towels were provided free of charge. Lockers were provided with number locks. Free water refill stations were available.

The facilities were compact but clean, offering enough showers so that there wasn’t a long wait.

Digital And Technology

The booking process was smooth and efficient and the Instagram account contained interesting content that made our evaluator excited for their class.
