What to Expect From An Axiom Session
Axiom keenly states that they’re “serious about fun”, and promotes an approach that seeks progress over perfection. Offering both cycling and strength training concepts, their Ride cycling sessions come in two formats – Rhythm and Road.
Their Rhythm sessions are billed as a 50-minute full-body high-energy workout, cycling in time to the beat of the music. Road sessions are a cardiac-intensive 50 minutes, focusing on sprints, team challenges, and hill climbs. You’ll be using the stats on the monitor to track and adjust RPM and power output, with the Axiom trademark high-energy music still pumping.
The Reception Service
Walking into Axiom Lor Mambong felt like stepping straight into a Halloween block party. With costumes, face paint and full-on festive energy, the studio created a lively first impression that instantly set the tone. We were greeted warmly and checked in quickly, with clear guidance on where to go and what to expect. Even with the compact reception area, the vibe made the space feel fun rather than crowded.
While the energy was high, the focus leaned more toward familiar faces, so first-time visitors like us didn’t get much personalised attention beyond the basics. Departure was quiet, with no opportunity for a check-out moment. Still, the efficiency and friendliness at arrival gave the experience a strong start.
The Class Experience
Axiom received The Fit Guide Class Experience Award of Excellence, making it one of Singapore’s stand-out offerings.
The ride itself was a blast. A full Disney playlist, bright lighting and an energetic coach made the session feel like a themed party on a bike. Instructions were clear, the pace flowed well and we always knew what was coming next thanks to well-timed countdowns and cues. The sense of community in the room was unmistakable, with members cheering each other on and leaning into the theme.
Personalisation, however, stayed light. The coach didn’t conduct an injury check, learn names or follow up after class, and bike setup help wasn’t fully completed. Music volume made some early instructions harder to hear. Even so, the overall experience was upbeat, motivating and enjoyable, and the coach’s energy carried the room from start to finish.
The Equipment And Studio
The studio delivered a strong, reliable ride setup. All bikes were clean, well maintained and from a reputable brand, and the layout gave everyone space to move comfortably. Equipment quality was consistently high, with everything in excellent working condition and fully stocked for different ability levels.
The room felt fresh and engaging, helped by LED lighting effects and a solid sound system that boosted the experience. The temperature settled nicely once class began, and the training floor was spotless. Branding elements on the equipment were minimal, but the environment overall created a smooth and enjoyable ride.
The Facilities And Public Areas
Across the public spaces, the club maintained a clean, bright and energetic feel. The clear yellow stairway and large logo gave a strong sense of arrival, and the changing rooms were particularly impressive. The shower rooms doubling as changing spaces—with dry areas, hooks and thoughtful layout—made getting ready much more comfortable than in typical studios. Amenities were stocked, grooming areas were tidy and showers delivered great pressure and consistent heat.
The waiting areas could feel crowded before sessions, with limited bench space and many members gathering near reception. Only three shower cubicles served two studios, so short queues formed after class. Food and beverage options were minimal, and there was no water refill station. Even with these constraints, hygiene standards stayed high and the flow of the space worked well for members coming and going.
Digital And Technology
Axiom’s digital experience was smooth, clear and easy to use. The website was mobile-friendly, bookings were quick and intuitive, payments processed without issues and confirmation emails landed instantly. Pre-class guidance, especially the links to instructional videos and clear arrival notes, helped us feel ready for our session from the moment we booked.
The online platforms were well aligned with the brand, with schedules, bios and packages easy to find and social media linking directly to booking pages. Email communication looked polished, though it didn’t have a strong brand voice, and social message responses took longer than expected. The club did not offer an app, tech-enhanced features or digital training options. Even so, the simplicity and reliability of the booking system made the online journey feel effortless.
