What to Expect From An Ascend Fitness Session
Ascend Fitness’ 4D Exergame class is a cardio and strength tech-based workout system from Korea that uses real-time motion sensors and interactive visuals to create a unique training experience.
Expect a dark room with lights and graphics projected on the wall and floor, with the workout including gamified features and targets. Classes are 50 minutes long and include strength sessions that target specific muscle groups such as their Abs, Butt and Thighs class, as well as concept classes such as Super Boost and Run & Move.
The Reception Service
We could not find a telephone number online, so were unable to call the club prior to our visit. On arrival at the club, registration was quick and an orientation was offered, but no attempt was made to connect with us.
The Class Experience
Ascend Fitness received The Fit Guide 4-Star Class Experience Award, making it one of Singapore’s stand-out offerings.
The coach radiated positive energy, making an effort to introduce newcomers to members who he knew well. As a first-time client, this was welcomed. The class was well-structured and the interactive, tech-based element was fun and unique. It was hard to hear the coach at times, as the music was loud.
The Equipment And Studio
The studio and equipment were very clean, but a little worn in places. The training floor was lit up by a projector which tracked our movements during the class and had interactive features.
The Facilities And Public Areas
Workout and shower towels were provided free of charge. Lockers were provided with key locks. Free water refill stations were available.
The public areas were designed well and there was consistent branding throughout the club.
Digital And Technology
The in-class technology aspect was great, but other elements of the digital experience let the journey down, such as the online booking process, website functionality, and the lack of information offered on their social media.
