What to Expect From An Ally Session
Ally quickly became one of the leading cycling studios in Singapore with their first spectacular location on Cross Street. The reception and waiting area, along with a champagne bar, has a vibe that is as much a Saturday night vibe as it is a fitness studio. The cycling studio itself has impressive lighting features and a high-end sound system.
Ally’s class offerings have differing lengths relating to their difficulty level, with beginners advised to start at the 50-minute Essentials 50 class. Their one-hour Signature 60 is for those that like an extra push, with an “exhilarating” Advanced 75 class as an aspirational goal for those that want to push themselves, physically and mentally.
The Reception Service
From the first point of contact, the reception experience felt calm, clear and easy to navigate. Phone enquiries were handled politely, with clear explanations around class options and helpful guidance for first timers, which made booking feel straightforward and low pressure. On arrival, we were greeted promptly, acknowledged as first timers and checked in efficiently, with staff maintaining a friendly and professional tone throughout.
Basic orientation was offered and the waiting process was explained clearly, though the walkthrough felt brief and could have gone a little further given the quiet studio at the time. While the service remained courteous and smooth, there were limited follow-up touchpoints after class, with no check-in on how the session went or guidance on next steps. With a little more personal engagement and proactive sales support, the reception experience could feel more connected.
The Class Experience
Ally has won our Class Experience Award of Excellence for an impressive class.
The class itself was fun and energetic, driven by confident delivery and a steady, upbeat pace. Instructions were clear, the session flowed smoothly, and the structure felt predictable in a good way, so we always knew what was coming next. Music, timing and general cues worked well together to create an engaging ride that felt lively without becoming overwhelming.
Pre-class setup was organised, with expectations explained clearly and first timers acknowledged. During the session, encouragement was consistent and the room was managed confidently. That said, personal connection was limited, with no name use, minimal individual check-ins and little form guidance. Some movements were introduced without demonstration, which caused moments of uncertainty. Even so, the class closed positively with a clear cooldown and warm sign-off, leaving the overall experience enjoyable and well run.
The Equipment And Studio
The studio made a strong impression, with equipment that felt clean, well maintained and ready to go. The bikes were clearly branded, spaced generously and suitable for a range of ability levels, making it easy to settle in and focus on the workout. Everything needed for the session was available, stocked and easy to access.
The wider training space added to the experience. The room felt fresh and comfortable, with clean floors, walls and ceilings throughout. Lighting effects enhanced the atmosphere and highlighted the instructor area, while the curved, tiered layout gave the studio a distinctive look that supported the brand. The sound system was high quality and helped maintain energy without overpowering the space.
The Facilities And Public Areas
The public areas stood out as a highlight and left a strong impression from the moment we arrived. The entrance created a clear sense of arrival, supported by striking design features and cohesive branding throughout the space. The layout was easy to navigate, well presented and consistently polished, creating a premium yet welcoming feel.
Changing rooms and grooming areas continued this standard. They were clean, tidy and well stocked, with amenities attractively arranged and easy to use. The architectural details and lighting added a refined touch, while showers and shared facilities were in excellent condition. Lockers and towels were practical, though some elements felt more functional than premium. Overall, the public areas supported a comfortable and enjoyable visit from start to finish.
Digital And Technology
The digital experience felt smooth and reliable, setting us up well before arriving at the studio. Booking through the website and app was straightforward, with clear payment options, quick confirmations and helpful information for first timers. This made the lead-up to the visit feel organised and stress free.
The website reflected the studio’s brand clearly, with consistent design, clear class descriptions and strong calls to action. Social media aligned well with the in-studio experience and gave an accurate sense of what to expect. Email communication was functional, though automatic messages could have matched the visual polish seen elsewhere. While the app and booking system worked efficiently, there were no additional digital features beyond the basics.
