The high-end equipment was also a highlight.
What Our Evaluator Had To Say
“The coach did a really amazing job keeping the class moving along but not letting me get lost on what to do.”
“The class felt very smooth and made sense, physically, as we moved between different focuses on the body.”
“The studio felt like a departure from the outside world that allowed you to fully focus on the workout at hand.”
What To Expect From A SLT Tread Session
SLT Tread offers 'two machines; one high-intensity workout'.
In their own spin on the popular dual method training concepts, SLT Tread combines 25 minutes of the classic SLT workout, using Megaformer Pilates machines, with 25 minutes of running on Woodway treadmills.
We recommend starting with their Intro session which offers a little more time getting used to the Megaformer machine. Once confident, you can progress to their Full Body, Ass & Abs and Core sessions.

The Reception Service
The phone inquiry was a positive experience, with clear details about the studio’s facilities and class offerings. The staff member’s friendly demeanor and proactive approach made us feel excited for our visit.
On arrival, the receptionist was polite and efficient, handling check-in smoothly and providing a brief orientation. However, the informal setup and lack of direction on where to wait or confirmation of our booking made the experience feel less seamless.
After class, while staff was knowledgeable about packages, there was no effort to ask about our experience or encourage a return visit. Recommendations felt generic rather than personalized to us.
The Class Experience
SLT Tread received TheFit Guide 5-Star Class Experience award, making it one of New York’s leading group class experiences.
The class experience was outstanding, with our knowledgeable and attentive coach creating a seamless and supportive environment. It was particularly beginner-friendly, with thorough guidance on the reformer, clear explanations, and personalized support that made us feel comfortable and capable. The coach’s friendly and encouraging demeanor added to the welcoming atmosphere.
The session flowed smoothly, balancing the technical aspects of Pilates with a sense of accomplishment and enjoyment. The coach made a strong effort to connect with participants, and the camaraderie among regulars and newcomers alike fostered a real sense of community. While brief breaks between movements could have been more defined, this was a minor detail in an otherwise excellent experience.
The Equipment And Studio
The studio delivered an exceptional experience, with high-end, well-maintained equipment and a thoughtfully designed training area that made it easy to stay immersed in the workout. Branded treadmills and meticulously maintained gear reinforced the studio’s premium feel.
Branding was seamlessly integrated through a sleek gray and blue color scheme, logos on equipment, and motivational slogans on the walls. Lighting transitions—brighter for the Megaformer and dimmer blue tones for the treadmill section—enhanced focus while reinforcing the studio’s aesthetic. While the room felt a bit too cold, requiring an extra layer during the megaformer session, the overall environment, supported by a high-quality sound system, was impressive and well-suited to the class.
The Facilities And Public Areas
The public areas were clean and well-maintained, with branding touches like a boutique area and slogans in the studio’s signature colors adding to the overall vibe. However, the layout felt a bit unconventional, with lockers (with number locks) and the waiting area positioned in an open hallway.
Complimentary workout and shower towels were available, though the workout towels were quite thin and not very absorbent. A water refill station was provided, but paid beverage options were limited to boxed water, with no electrolyte or flavored drinks available. The club offered two well-maintained showers.
Hand wash, lotion, deodorant, and hair products were provided, though the absence of sensory elements, standout design features, and a welcoming temperature in the waiting area slightly detracted from the overall experience.
Digital And Technology
The digital experience was strong, especially the seamless booking process and easy credit purchases through the website. Its clean design, clear navigation, and strong branding made us feel prepared for our first visit. Follow-up emails after account creation, credit purchases, and class bookings were detailed and well-branded.
The club’s social media presence was another digital highlight, with regular updates providing relevant information. While the booking system was smooth, there were no advanced tech features to enhance the in-class experience. More details on the seven class types and coach bios would have been helpful. Overall, the streamlined digital experience and strong online presence left a great impression.
