The Sky Ting Yoga Story

SKY TING Yoga was founded in 2015 by Krissy Jones and Chloe Kernaghan in New York’s Chinatown. They launched with a vision to blend movement, art, and design into a unique yoga experience. Their approach combines elements of vinyasa, dance, and Katonah yoga, creating a practice that is both accessible and deeply rooted in tradition.

The studio quickly gained a cult following, leading to expansions in Tribeca and Williamsburg, as well as international retreats designed to bring their community together in inspiring locations. To make their method more widely available, they launched SKY TING TV, an online platform offering yoga classes and wellness content to practitioners anywhere in the world.

Known for their thoughtfully designed spaces and commitment to high-quality teaching, SKY TING aims to redefine modern yoga with a focus on longevity, self-care, and community.

The Highlights

The strong sense of community at the studio was a highlight. It was clear that the coach had a bond with many of the class participants.

The luxe feel of the public areas was also a notable aspect of our visit.

What Our Evaluator Had To Say

“There was a real sense of calm throughout the public areas.”

“I liked the relaxing feel of the yoga studio.”

The natural light from the windows, wood floors, and exposed brick walls painted white all added a distinct sense of style.”

What to Expect From A Sky Ting Yoga Session

A typical Sky Ting Yoga session blends traditional yoga postures with innovative sequences designed to improve strength, flexibility, and mindfulness. Classes take place in a calm, airy studio environment, fostering relaxation and focus.

Instructors tailor sessions to meet participants’ needs, offering modifications and alignment cues to ensure accessibility and proper form. The practice includes dynamic flows, breathing techniques, and moments of stillness for a balanced experience.

Class types include Beginner Yoga for new practitioners, Flow classes for intermediate levels, and Restorative Yoga for deep relaxation and recovery.

The Reception Service

Our call to the club was answered promptly and professionally. While the information provided was clear and accurate, the conversation felt somewhat transactional.

Upon arrival at the studio, the receptionist greeted us warmly, and registration was completed quickly. An orientation was provided, ensuring we felt comfortable navigating the facilities.

After class, staff encouraged our evaluator to return, but more effort to discuss memberships or packages in detail would have helped us continue our practice there.

The Class Experience

Sky Ting Yoga has received our Recommended Rating for the Class Experience.

Our instructor demonstrated a deep knowledge of yoga and its principles, sharing insightful details throughout the session. Her calm and welcoming demeanor, paired with a strong connection to regular participants, created a warm and supportive class environment.

While there was a sense of community, it felt less accessible to our evaluator, a first-time participant. While the session was enjoyable and well-paced, clearer guidance for newcomers would have made the experience even more inclusive.

The Equipment And Studio

The training room was spacious, clean, and filled with natural light from large windows overlooking the area. While branding was minimal, the white brick walls and impressive design created a fresh and inviting atmosphere.

The Facilities And Public Areas

Lockers were available, but clients needed to bring their own locks. Free water refill stations were provided, but workout towels were not available. Showers were also not provided.

Overall, the public areas had a clean and luxurious feel. The scented candles from Florida Estate added a fresh and relaxing touch, and the natural light, wood floors, and live plants enhanced the refined atmosphere.

Digital And Technology

The booking process was smooth and user-friendly, with a clean, professional website that reflected the brand’s values and included useful features like instructor bios and class schedules. However, the pricing was a little confusing due to the mix of digital and in-person options.

Social media was active and engaging, though no branded app or in-class technology was used to enhance the experience.
