What To Expect From A New York Pilates Session
New York Pilate’s signature class is their Abs Arms Ass session, a high intensity 45-minute session founded by their master trainer, Heather Anderson. Using pilates reformers, they describe their class as an “immersive mind-body experience” guided by supportive, experienced instructors that are trained to adapt the class to all levels.
The Reception Service
Before the visit, our calls to the branch went unanswered. We were greeted and served promptly, but little more beyond the basics were offered to enhance the service.
The Class Experience
New York Pilates West Village received our Recommended rating for the Class Experience.
Our instructor competently led a well-structured class and had a friendly demeanor. Much like the reception service, a stronger attempt to connect and get to know us would have added to the experience.
The Equipment And Studio
The studio was nicely designed and the reformers were high spec, but there were a few cleanliness and condition issues.
The Facilities And Public Areas
Whilst the public areas had a nice design, some of the basics were missing, such as showers.
Workout and shower towels were not available - instead, a small washcloth was offered. Lockers were not provided - instead, cubby holes were available for our personal items. Free water refill stations were available.
Digital And Technology
Whilst we were easily able to make a reservation online, we were unable to find information such as details on the classes or instructors. The website would benefit from a modernizing refresh.
