How Did Conbody Score Overall?
The full client experience at Conbody was excellent, achieving our Fit Guide 4-Star Award.
The class was also very good, winning our 4-Star Class Experience Award.
The Highlights
The class was tough, but the coach did a great job of keeping the vibe fun and engaging.
What Our Evaluator Had To Say
“There was a really lovely, friendly relationship between the staff and clients.”
“The public areas were simple, but despite the ‘prison-like’ vibe, everything was clean and comfortable.”
“Our coach consistently gave advice on which muscle group the clients should be engaging.”
What To Expect From A Conbody Session
The Conbody method was developed in a prison cell with no equipment and little space, and it clearly works. Founder Coss used the method to help other inmates lose over 1,000 lbs of body weight, and he now offers those training techniques in his studios on the outside to help others get fit and lose fat.
In a typical Conbody session you can expect plenty of body weight exercises and plyometrics such as push ups, squats and burpees, with each day offering a specific focus, such as Better Booty Wednesday, Hard Core Thursday and Full Body Friday.
The trainers have done their time, and now they’ll help you ‘do the time’ needed to get results in a supportive and inspiring environment.
The Reception Service
Our pre-visit calls to the club went answered. However, once we arrived the whole process was simple, quick, and unfussy.
The Class Experience
Conbody received The Fit Guide 4-Star Class Experience Award, making it one of New York’s stand-out offerings.
Our coach was knowledgeable and passionate and, even though he was tough on the clients in the room to continue to push themselves, he gave a lot of attention to keeping the vibe positive and the exercises safe.
As a first timer to the concept and studio, we would liked to have seen more individual support and adjustments.
The Equipment And Studio
The workout was all body weight with no equipment, but the studio itself was clean, crisp and gave us plenty of room to do our workout.
The Facilities And Public Areas
The public spaces were clean and well maintained. We loved the messaging around the club that spoke of their commitment to hiring formerly incarcerated people.
Workout and shower towels were available free of charge. Lockers were provided, but we had to provide our own locks. Free water refill stations were available.
Digital And Technology
Being a ‘prison-style’ workout, there was of course no technology used during our session. However, their website and social media gave a strong representation of the brand and their message.
