The Mimi Yoga Story

Mimi Yoga is a boutique infrared-heated yoga and Pilates studio and lifestyle brand founded by Miriam “Mimi” Ghandour. The studio is headquartered in Miami’s Wynwood neighborhood and has expanded to additional locations including Coconut Grove. The brand also supports a global online presence and organizes retreats.

Mimi Ghandour is a certified E-RYT 200 yoga instructor, originally from Saudi Arabia and currently based in Miami. Her path into yoga was partly motivated by personal wellness needs, and over time she developed a teaching approach that combines athletic movement with spiritual elements.

Classes at Mimi Yoga include Power vinyasa flows, which often feature mantras played on a harmonium, as well as hybrid formats such as Yogilates and Pilates BootyCamp. The brand also provides restorative, vinyasa, and non-heated options to accommodate varying levels of practice.

The Highlights

The striking studio design, including glowing mirrors, turquoise floors, and natural light, gave the space a memorable and elevated feel.

What Our Evaluator Had To Say

“The studio itself was stunning—those glowing mirrors and turquoise floor really stood out and made it feel special.”

“I loved the flow of the class. The cues were clear, the energy was strong, and the essential oil towel at the end was such a nice finishing touch.”

“The vibe of the space was warm and welcoming, from the mural outside to the little details inside. It felt like a spot I’d want to keep coming back to.”

What to Expect From A Mimi Yoga Wynwood Session

At Mimi Yoga, every session is heated—with infrared warmth set between 95 and 100°F—to help deepen flexibility, detoxify, and enrich the practice. Their approach blends traditional yoga forms with creative fusion styles to build strength, mobility, and presence, weaving in elements of Pilates, flow, and rhythm. Their philosophy centers on invitation rather than perfection, stating that each class is for “the willing, not the flexible.”

Classes cover a wide range of styles and intensities to suit all levels of experience and energy. Power Flow is energetic, fast-paced, and breath-driven; Vinyasa focuses on connection and mindful transitions; Yogilates combines Pilates and yoga movements to challenge the core; Pilates Sculpt is a heated blend of mat pilates bursts with resistance tools; Hip Hop Flow flows to rhythm and movement; Restorative is slow and intentional, ideal for resetting; and Stretch & Sculpt merges deep stretching with strength work.

They also offer hybrid styles like Pilates Bootcamp, which fuses low-impact Pilates with glute-focused work using rings and bands over continuous motion, and Vinyasa Reset, which bridges dynamic flow with deep, restorative stretches.

The Reception Service

Our first contact with Mimi Yoga was over the phone, where the team shared the basics in a polite and professional way. The call gave us everything we needed to feel ready for our first visit.

On arrivedal at the studio, check-in was quick and smooth, and the front desk felt calm and easy to approach. As first-timers, we weren’t offered an orientation or acknowledged as being new, which left the welcome feeling a touch transactional. Still, the process was efficient, and the friendly vibe of the space helped us settle in without any stress.

After class, the team was more engaging. Package options were explained with confidence and ease, and the conversation ended on a warm and upbeat note, with encouragement to return. It was a nice way to round off the visit, even if the initial touchpoints had left us wishing for a little more personal flair.

The Class Experience

Mimi Yoga Wynwood received our Class Experience Award of Excellence.

The class itself delivered the standout moments of our visit. The instructor set a friendly and professional tone, checking in with the whole group to see who was new and offering clear advice before the flow began. It wasn’t a deeply personal introduction, but it was enough to make us feel supported.

Once the vinyasa flow started, the session moved with confidence and clarity. Explanations were easy to follow, the music paired well with the pace, and progressions and regressions were thoughtfully woven in to keep everyone on track. The instructor moved around the room, offering subtle form adjustments and giving extra guidance where needed, which helped raise the overall experience.

The flow built gradually and left us feeling energized, while the cooldown softened the intensity in a satisfying way. The finishing touch, a cold essential oil towel, was a highlight, capping the experience nicely.

The Equipment And Studio

Mimi Yoga’s studio space is a showstopper. Rounded mirrors with glowing backlighting, turquoise floors, and dainty accent lighting created a look that was both memorable and soothing. Natural light filtered in, striking a great balance between energizing and calming the room.

The space was spotless and beautifully styled, with design details that set it apart from some of the more standard studios we've visited. The setup was minimal when it came to equipment, as it just featured yoga blocks, but they were neatly organized, clean, and plentiful, meeting the needs of everyone in the class.

A crisp sound system and a spacious floor layout kept the vibe professional and elevated. It’s a studio that feels as thoughtfully designed as it does functional, and it added a lot of atmosphere to our session.

The Facilities And Public Areas

The first thing you’ll notice when approaching Mimi Yoga Wynwood is the bold and colorful mural on the exterior wall, setting the tone before you even step inside. Once through the door, the public spaces continued that energy, with fresh, welcoming touches like live plants, a branded mirror with a glowing motto, and seasonal decorations.

The waiting area was comfortable and easy to navigate, with enough space and seating for everyone to relax pre-class. Branded merchandise, snacks, and beauty products were on display for purchase, adding to the lifestyle feel of the space. Music played at the right volume and clear signage made it simple to move around.

The locker and grooming areas were neat, tidy, and well-stocked with handy extras like cotton buds, deodorant, and makeup remover. A single shower was available, and while compact, it delivered consistent hot water and had toiletries ready to go. Complimentary workout towels and a water refill station were a plus, though shower towels and hairdryers weren’t provided. Overall, the facilities carried the same clean, professional tone as the rest of the studio.

Digital And Technology

Booking a class at Mimi Yoga was straightforward and stress-free. The website, powered by Mindbody, was easy to navigate, with schedules, class types, and payment all handled in just a few clicks. Our confirmation email arrived quickly with all the essential info.

The website itself reflected the studio’s vision nicely, with clear branding, professional design, and a section about Mimi and her ethos. Instructor bios and class descriptions helped set our expectations, and the overall aesthetic stayed on point.

On social media, the content aligned well with the brand, but posts weren’t updated as frequently as other studios in the area.
