The Siga Studios Story

Siga Studios is a Melbourne boutique fitness studio founded in 2024 by Isabella and Gaye, opening its flagship location in Collingwood in August of that year. The brand blends reformer Pilates and barre within a women-led, community-focused setting.

Built around the Greek philosophy of “Siga Siga”, meaning “slowly, slowly,” the studio emphasizes quality of movement and mental presence over speed. Classes are intentionally small, o maintain a more personalized experience.

Siga Studios is particularly known for its Barre Release concept, which combines strength, cardio, and muscular endurance, as well as for its bright, minimalist interior design. Beyond weekly classes, the brand hosts workshops, community events, and international wellness retreats.

The Reception Service

Reception in the studio felt warm and welcoming, particularly as first timers. Check in was quick, booking details were accurate and we were greeted promptly on arrival. Once it was clear we were new, a basic orientation was provided and we were shown where to go, which made it easy to settle in. The team came across as friendly and professional, and the tone in person felt relaxed and straightforward.

Our pre-visit calls to the club were not answered. Packages were explained clearly when we asked, but next steps and tailored recommendations were not discussed.

The Class Experience

Siga Studios Collingwood received our Class Experience Award of Excellence.

The class was structured, upbeat and easy to follow. It started on time, with clear explanations and steady pacing that made it simple to understand what was coming next. As newcomers, we were able to keep up thanks to clear demonstrations and well timed cues. The music supported the energy of the session and helped maintain momentum throughout.

Names were not used and no injury check was conducted before class. Individual form corrections were limited and there was no follow up after class. Even so, the session felt professionally run and accessible for someone new to the studio.

The Equipment And Studio

The studio environment stood out on arrival. The space felt bright, clean and well maintained, with floors, walls and ceilings in good condition. Natural light from large windows and skylights created an open feel, and the temperature remained comfortable throughout the session.

A cohesive green palette, plants and retro furniture gave the studio a clear identity. The sound system was high quality and supported the class without distraction. Overall, the space felt intentional, fresh and easy to train in.

The Facilities And Public Areas

The studio was tucked away but easy to locate with clear signage. Public areas felt relaxed and organised, with natural light and a subtle scent contributing to a comfortable atmosphere. The waiting area was simple but pleasant, with suitable temperature and music setting a good tone before class.

Changing and grooming areas were clean and neatly presented, with amenities attractively displayed and well stocked. There was one toilet and one shower, and no dedicated changing area. Hairdryers and towels were not provided. Lockers were clean and well sized, and the shower had good water pressure with consistent temperature. Complimentary water was available.

Digital And Technology

Booking was straightforward and reliable. Classes and packages could be purchased and paid for easily through the website, and the system functioned smoothly. Key details such as cancellation policies and arrival times were clearly explained, which helped us feel prepared before arriving. However, no booking confirmation was received, which slightly reduced reassurance after purchase.

The website was clean, professional and easy to navigate, with clear class descriptions and directions. The tone reflected the brand’s inclusive positioning. Social media gave an accurate view of the in studio experience, though posting frequency and visual consistency varied. Technology supported booking well, but did not extend beyond reservation tools.
