What to Expect From A CycleBar Fitzroy Session
CycleBar Fitzroy delivers rhythm based indoor cycling built around music, performance metrics and group energy. Expect endurance climbs, sprints, intervals and light upper body work on the bike, guided by clear cueing and strong playlists. Classes run in a darkened studio with lighting and sound that shift with the music, supported by CycleStats performance tracking. The format combines structured training with a high energy atmosphere.
The Reception Service
Reception felt upbeat and organised. It took a couple of attempts to reach the club by phone. Once connected, the call was clear and helpful, with pricing, what to bring and what to expect explained confidently. We arrived prepared.
In studio, check in was smooth and efficient. We were greeted promptly, acknowledged as first timers and registered on a tablet. A brief orientation covered lockers and facilities, and we were shown where to wait. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed. After class, there was a genuine check in with us on how we enjoyed the session. Sales information was explained clearly and a price list was available, though goals were not discussed.
The Class Experience
CycleBar Fitzroy received our Class Experience Award of Excellence.
The class delivered strong energy throughout. First timers were identified, our name was used and prior experience was checked before starting. The warm up was well paced and the session began on time, with clear setup guidance that helped us feel confident on the bike.
Coaching during the ride was enthusiastic and structured. Demonstrations were clear, progressions and regressions were offered, and timing cues aligned with the music. Music volume at times made instructions harder to hear, and the overall class structure was not outlined at the start. The session ran over time but overall the ride was engaging and well coached.
The Equipment And Studio
The studio felt premium and immersive. Bikes were high quality, clean and in excellent working order, with strong brand presence throughout. Equipment was well spaced and appropriate for the class size.
Lighting and sound were standout features. Neon accents, bold colour details and a '360 degree' sound system created a dynamic environment that shifted with the music. Temperature and cleanliness were well maintained, and the overall space felt designed to support the ride.
The Facilities And Public Areas
Public areas were clean, organised and clearly on brand. The studio was easy to find, and merchandise, cycling shoes and the red and white colour scheme reinforced identity on arrival. Waiting areas were spacious with adequate seating, comfortable temperature and suitable music volume.
Changing areas were tidy and functional, with clean lockers in good condition. Shower and workout towels were provided free of charge. Grooming amenities and hairdryers were available. Showers were clean with good water pressure and consistent temperature. Complimentary water was available, with no additional food or beverage options.
Digital And Technology
The digital experience was a strength. Booking through the website or branded app was intuitive, with clear payment options and easy cancellation management. Confirmation emails and text messages were sent promptly with arrival and policy details.
The website was mobile friendly and aligned with the brand’s tone. Class schedules, pricing and getting started information were easy to navigate. Automated emails were personalised and visually consistent, and text communication was clear. The branded app added performance tracking through CycleStats.
