With various formats and a focus on individuality, music, and heat, Y7 aims to provide an inclusive space to flow, sweat, and grow.

The Reception Service

There was no phone number listed online, so reaching out before arrival wasn’t possible.

Upon arrival, the receptionist warmly welcomed us, checked us in efficiently, and explained the safety waiver. He gave a clear orientation of the space, including locker and shower locations and the class studio. A nice touch was his mention of the new client special before class, giving us time to consider it.

After class, he walked us through membership options and made an effort to close the sale in a non-pushy manner. While he was knowledgeable and personable, he didn’t ask questions to understand our fitness needs or goals. Overall, a solid experience.

The Class Experience

Y7 Studio Silver Lake received our Class Experience Award of Excellence.

We were impressed with the class experience, thanks to our coach’s positive energy and supportive style. She introduced herself before class, checked in with each of us, and clearly explained the equipment and props. Her upbeat encouragement created an inclusive and motivating environment throughout.

While her knowledge and willingness to offer modifications were appreciated, the class occasionally lacked structure. Music changes and indecision about the next exercise disrupted the flow. There was also no injury check or effort to learn about our training background, limiting personalization opportunities.

Overall, the class was challenging, effective, and enjoyable. Her warmth and individual engagement left us feeling encouraged and eager to return.

The Equipment And Studio

The industrial-chic setting at Y7 Silver Lake created an impressive, memorable experience. The bold signage and distinctive layout gave the space a cool, garage-like vibe, while the separation between the main and back-lot studios added a unique touch. Everything from the strength equipment to the sound system was clean, high-quality, and well-maintained.

While the facilities were generally in good condition, a few cosmetic touch-ups in the workout area—like peeling paint—would have enhanced the space. The individual shower stalls were spotless and stocked with premium products but lacked seating and convenient storage. The waiting area felt under-equipped with minimal seating.

Despite these small details, the studio’s immersive ambiance and clean, well-arranged layout left a strong impression.

The Facilities And Public Areas

We found the public areas at Y7 Silver Lake to be stylish, clean, and strongly aligned with the brand’s bold identity. The garage-style setting gave the space an edgy, urban vibe, enhanced by large signage and yoga-inspired messaging. The layout was unique, with two separate studio spaces—one inside the main building and another tucked into a separate garage in the back lot—creating an unconventional but cohesive flow. The hallway leading to the locker rooms and showers carried through the brand’s black-and-white aesthetic, and the branded workout apparel for sale added to the experience. Seating in the waiting area was limited, with just two chairs and a small bench.

Lockers were conveniently located, in excellent condition, and secured with keypad locks. Towels for both workout and shower use were free and neatly presented, and high-quality amenities like deodorant and dry shampoo were provided in clean grooming areas. The individual shower stalls, while clean and stocked with Malin and Goetz products, lacked space, seating, or storage for changing, making them a bit cramped.

There were no food or beverage items available for purchase, but free filtered water was available at a touchless refill station. Overall, the space was well-maintained, visually striking, and delivered a memorable branded experience.

Digital And Technology

The digital experience at Y7 Studio Silver Lake impressed us with its ease and clarity. The booking process was smooth, and confirmation emails were immediate and informative, outlining cancellation policies and arrival expectations. The website was intuitive, professionally designed, and reflected the studio’s personality with playful copy like “We Flow Hard.” Email communications were cohesive, with consistent visuals, fonts, and tone, aligning perfectly with the Y7 brand.

The studio maintained a strong online presence, with regularly updated social channels reflecting the vibe and experience clients could expect. While the website provided essential information like class types and core values, it lacked instructor bios and detailed directions to the studio. Despite these small gaps, the cohesive branding, engaging communication, and seamless booking left a strong positive impression.
