What Our Evaluator Had To Say
"I felt totally set up for success before class—each station, treadmill, and bench was explained so clearly that I walked in feeling confident and ready to go."
"Watching my stats on the screen during class was a great motivator—it pushed me to dig deeper, and it felt like the coach could tailor his feedback in real time."
"The space had a cool, industrial edge with some modern details that gave it personality, though the changing area could’ve used a bit more space and a cleaner finish."

What to Expect From A Circuit Works Santa Monica Session
Circuit Works Santa Monica offers a fast-paced, circuit-style training experience built around high-intensity intervals, with a mix of strength and cardio stations that keep things moving and challenging. Each class is designed to be effective and adaptable, whether you're jumping into HIIT, Reformer Pilates, or yoga.
One standout feature is the studio’s small-format training model—no more than two people per station—with video screens guiding movement, form, and resistance. Trainers move throughout the space giving real-time cues and form adjustments, creating a semi-personal training feel in a group setting.
Beyond HIIT, the schedule includes Reformer Pilates for core and strength work, and yoga sessions that range from Vinyasa and Power Flow to Iyengar-inspired formats, both heated and unheated. Premium memberships unlock extras like an infrared sauna, cold plunge, and open gym access.
It’s a well-rounded setup with structure, energy, and enough variety to support performance or recovery, depending on what you’re after.

The Reception Service
The phone call gave us a solid overview of the studio’s offerings, including class types, facilities, and membership deals. While the greeting lacked polish and the tone was a bit too casual, the information shared was helpful and got us interested in visiting.
On arrival, we were greeted promptly and given a clear orientation. The front desk team explained the check-in system, how to use the armband, and where to wait before class. The interaction was smooth and informative, though a bit more personal connection—like using our name or asking about our goals—would’ve elevated the experience.
After class, the receptionist walked us through the 24-hour intro offer and explained the membership options clearly. While she didn’t ask how we enjoyed the session or tailor the pitch to our needs, we left feeling welcomed and well-informed.
The Class Experience
Circuit Works Santa Monica received The Fit Guide Five-Star Class Experience Award making it one of LA's very best offerings.
We were really impressed with the class, thanks to the coach’s energy, professionalism, and attention to detail. Before the workout, we got a personalized walkthrough of all ten stations, which gave us a clear sense of the flow and how to use the equipment. That was followed by a quick but effective group briefing that set the tone nicely.
Throughout the session, the coach balanced correction and encouragement well—offering form tips, exercise tweaks, and individual shoutouts that kept the energy up. The pacing was smooth, transitions felt natural, and the overall structure was easy to follow from start to finish.
While the coach didn’t ask about our background or goals, their presence made the experience feel personal. The class ended on a high note with a fun cooldown and a genuine check-in afterward. It left a strong impression both in terms of training and the overall vibe.

The Equipment And Studio
The equipment and setup made a strong impression. Everything—from treadmills and benches to weights and bands—was high-quality, clean, and in great condition. There was more than enough gear for everyone, with options to suit all fitness levels, and the layout felt spacious and well-organized. The on-screen exercise demos were clear and especially helpful during the workout.
The space itself was clean, comfortable, and functional, with solid lighting and sound. That said, aside from the branded screens, there wasn’t much in the way of visual identity or standout design. It felt more like a solid, no-frills HIIT studio than a concept-led space—but it got the job done.

The Facilities And Public Areas
The public areas at Circuit Works Santa Monica made a solid impression, blending industrial and modern design elements in a way that felt clean and on-brand. While the space wasn’t heavily branded, the lighting, music, and merchandise displays created an energetic, welcoming vibe, and the layout was easy to navigate.
We appreciated the thoughtful amenities—free water refill station, branded workout and shower towels, and a good selection of drinks and snacks for purchase. Lockers were clean and simple to use. The changing and grooming areas, though, felt a bit tight and lacked some basics like seating, hairdryers, or a proper spot for post-workout touch-ups.

Digital And Technology
Circuit Works delivered a smooth, tech-forward experience from start to finish. Booking online was quick and easy, with confirmation emails arriving promptly and clearly outlining key info like arrival time and late-cancel policies. While the email design was minimal—just a logo and name—the communication felt clear and professional.
In-studio, the real-time heart rate tracking was a standout. Seeing our stats on screen during the workout added a layer of motivation and helped personalize the session. The follow-up email with a breakdown of our performance was a great touch—practical, not just flashy.
