CAMP - Santa Monica

Los Angeles, USA

The CAMP Story

CAMP, founded by Kimberly Thorne and Mohamed Elsayed in 2022, has established itself as one of the leading boutique cycling destinations in Dubai. Their philosophy centers on “using mental training to unlock individuals' potential through rhythmic movement”.

CAMP’s music-driven CYCLE 45’ classes and lively BOOTCAMP 50’ sessions are loved amongst their community and have helped the club build a loyal and dedicated following.

How Did CAMP Santa Monica Score Overall?

The full client experience at CAMP Santa Monica was excellent achieving The Fit Guide Award Of Excellence.

The class was also impressive and has achieved the Class Experience Award of Excellence.

The Highlights

The brand consistency and camp-themed decor across both buildings created a fun, immersive environment that really stood out.

The instructor’s energy, flow structure, and calming playlist made for a smooth and enjoyable yoga session.

What Our Evaluator Had To Say

“I loved the thoughtful branding details—they even had a tire swing and oars in the second building to match the camp theme!”

“The class flowed really well, and the instructor gave just the right amount of encouragement and guidance without ever being pushy.”

“Booking the class was super easy, and the email they sent had all the info I needed—it even matched the camp vibe perfectly.”

What to Expect From A CAMP Santa Monica Session

CAMP offers a diverse mix of fitness and yoga classes that combine movement, music, and community in a structured, high-energy environment. The programming covers a range of styles—from HIIT-focused Circuit and resistance-based Sculpt, to Yoga and full-body Stations workouts. Sessions feature equipment like self-propelled treadmills, TRX, dumbbells, and blocks, with workouts designed to vary each time.

Each class is led by an experienced instructor, with a focus on strong coaching standards and curated playlists to support the session’s energy and flow. With four studios across Los Angeles, CAMP creates a consistent and welcoming environment for participants looking to challenge themselves through a variety of formats.

The Reception Service

We were unable to reach the club by phone after three attempts. At the club, however, the reception team made a friendly and helpful impression at both check-in and after class.

On arrival, the male receptionist welcomed us, introduced us to the instructor, and, once he realized it was our first time, offered a quick orientation and a complimentary yoga mat rental. While he didn’t offer an unprompted tour, he was warm and accommodating once prompted.

After class, a different receptionist explained package options clearly, offered a tour of the additional spaces, and answered questions knowledgeably. We appreciated her tip about shower wait times and the suggestion to relax outside.

Staff were polite and professional, but the experience could have been more personal, with no effort made to use our name, ask about our goals, or guide us toward booking another session.

The Class Experience

CAMP Santa Monica received our Class Experience Award of Excellence.

The instructor brought a calm, confident energy to the room, with polished communication, clear instructions, and a well-structured yoga flow. The class started on time and moved smoothly from warm-up to cooldown, supported by a soothing playlist. Participants were encouraged to move at their own pace, with options to modify or deepen poses.

Throughout the session, the instructor remained focused and attentive, offering verbal guidance and maintaining a professional tone with strong verbal cues and technical language. However, no physical adjustments or injury checks were provided, which would have elevated the personal care for first-timers.

The class concluded with a grounding Shavasana and thoughtful words. Afterward, the instructor shared a positive comment and checked in about our experience. While the session felt well-executed and enjoyable, more personalized interactions would have strengthened the overall sense of community.

The Equipment And Studio

While gear was minimal—just yoga mats and blocks—it was clean, plentiful, and thoughtfully arranged. The heated studio offered ample room for movement, a well-maintained floor, and a calming, fresh atmosphere.

Exposed ceilings and string lights gave the space a stylish, elevated feel, while lighting and sound enhanced the overall class vibe. The studio was also kept at a comfortable temperature throughout the session.

Stronger branding elements like branded mats, props, or wall décor could have tied the space more closely to the CAMP LA identity, but overall, it was a beautiful and functional environment that supported the flow and comfort of the class.

The Facilities And Public Areas

Public areas across both CAMP LA buildings were fresh, professional, and easy to navigate. Branding stood out with camp-themed décor, bold signage, and playful touches like a tented front desk.

Waiting areas were inviting but varied, with more seating in the second building. Staff were friendly and professional throughout. Lockers with scroll locks were available in the second building, while the yoga studio had open cubbies. Grooming areas were clean but basic, and showers were stocked with quality products. Complimentary towels were available by request.

Water refill stations and bottled drinks like Koia and Celsius were offered, though no food options. Adding secure lockers near the yoga studio and more grooming amenities would further enhance the strong, immersive brand experience.

Digital And Technology

The digital experience at CAMP LA was smooth and impressive. Booking a class was quick through their well-designed website and branded app, with easy payment options and clear arrival and cancellation info in the confirmation email. The platform also made it simple to review or cancel bookings, leaving us fully prepared for our visit.

Emails were personalized, visually consistent, and creatively tied to the “camp” theme, matching the tone of the website and studio design. Social media was frequently updated and showcased the client experience well.

While there were no in-class tech features like performance tracking, the strong online presence, ease of use, and branded touchpoints made for a polished and cohesive digital journey.
