The Reception Service
We were unable to contact the club by phone to make an enquiry as the line was not answered on three attempts. At the club, however, we were impressed with the friendly and helpful vibe from the reception team, both at check-in and after class.
On arrival, the male receptionist welcomed us and introduced us to the instructor. Once he realized it was our first time, he offered a quick orientation and made sure we had everything we needed, including a complimentary yoga mat rental. While he didn’t immediately offer an unprompted tour, he was warm and accommodating once prompted.
After class, a different receptionist helped us at the club’s other front desk. She was very friendly and took the time to explain the package options in detail. She also offered a tour of the additional spaces and answered all our questions knowledgeably. We appreciated the heads-up about potential wait times for the showers and her suggestion to relax on the bench outside while we waited. Although helpful, the interaction could have been elevated with a few more personal touches, like using our name or asking more questions to better understand our goals.
All the staff we encountered were polite and professional. That said, no efforts were made to guide us toward booking another session after class.

The Class Experience
CAMP Santa Monica received our Class Experience Award of Excellence.
We had an impressive class experience during our visit to CAMP LA. The instructor brought a calm, confident energy to the room, with polished communication, clear instructions, and a well-structured yoga flow. The class started on time and progressed smoothly from warm-up to cooldown, with a soothing playlist that enhanced the overall atmosphere. Participants were encouraged to take the flow at their own pace, with options to modify or deepen poses based on individual experience.
Throughout the session, the instructor remained focused and attentive, walking around the room and offering verbal guidance. The use of technical yoga language and consistent pacing added a layer of professionalism that reassured us we were in good hands. While visual demos and verbal cues were strong, no physical adjustments were provided, and there was no injury check, which could have elevated the personal care for first-timers.
The class concluded with a grounding Shavasana and thoughtful words to close. Afterward, the instructor approached us to share a positive comment and check in about our experience. While the class felt well-executed and enjoyable overall, we felt that more personalized interactions and attention to first-timers would have helped create a stronger sense of community and connection.

The Equipment And Studio
The equipment and studio space at CAMP LA left a strong impression. While the gear used was minimal—just yoga mats and blocks—it was clean, plentiful, and thoughtfully arranged. The studio was heated for the class and offered ample room for movement, with a well-maintained floor and a calming atmosphere that felt both fresh and welcoming.
The standout design elements were the exposed ceilings and string lights, which gave the space a stylish, elevated feel. Lighting and sound were both on point, enhancing the overall vibe of the class experience. The studio was also kept at a comfortable temperature throughout the session.
To further elevate the environment, we felt that the space could benefit from stronger branding elements—such as branded mats, props, or wall décor—to tie the aesthetic more closely to the CAMP LA identity. Nonetheless, it was a beautiful and functional space that supported the flow and comfort of the class.

The Facilities And Public Areas
Public areas across both buildings at CAMP LA were highly impressive and thoughtfully executed. The club was easy to navigate despite being split across two locations, and both spaces offered a consistently fresh, professional, and comfortable atmosphere. Branding was a standout throughout—from exterior colors and signage to creative touches like camp-themed décor, oars, and humorous decals. The second building in particular brought the “Camp” identity to life with a front desk under a tent and charming themed elements that added personality and playfulness to the space.
Waiting areas were varied but inviting, with minimal seating in the yoga studio and more generous options—including benches and high-top chairs—in the second building. Staff members throughout were friendly, well-groomed, and professional, contributing to a warm, welcoming feel. Lockers in the hallway of the second building were in excellent condition and used scroll locks, while the yoga studio offered only open cubbies. Grooming areas were tidy and clean but lacked amenities beyond hand soap. The two showers were clean, in great condition, and stocked with high-quality products. Complimentary workout and shower towels were presented neatly and available by request.
Water refill stations were available, and bottled drinks including Koia and Celsius were also for sale. However, no food options were offered. We would have appreciated secure lockers could be added near the yoga studio, and grooming amenities expanded to offer a more elevated experience. Overall, the club delivered a fun and immersive atmosphere with a strong sense of brand identity woven into every corner.

Digital And Technology
The digital experience at CAMP LA was impressive from start to finish. Booking a class was quick and seamless through both their well-designed website and branded app. Payments could be made online using a credit card, and clients could easily choose between single sessions or memberships. Once the booking was completed, a polished and informative confirmation email was received, clearly outlining arrival expectations and cancellation policies. The user-friendly platform also allowed bookings to be reviewed or canceled through the site or app, leaving us feeling fully prepared for our first visit.
Email communications were another standout. They were personalized, visually consistent, and delightfully on-brand, with creative touches like wood paneling and grass-textured visuals tying back to the club’s “camp” theme. The tone matched what we saw across the club’s website and in-studio design, creating a cohesive experience. Social media channels were frequently updated with relevant info, including class schedules, and effectively showcased the client experience in a fun, branded way.
While the booking tech and communications felt premium, there weren’t any in-class tech features that elevated the session itself. There was no advanced performance tracking or interactive digital tools during the workout. Still, the ease of use, branded touchpoints, and strong online presence made for a digital journey that felt elevated, clear, and on-theme from start to finish.
