The Reception Service
The phone call set a positive tone, with the receptionist offering plenty of helpful information without being prompted.
On arrival, the welcome felt polished and well-managed, with the receptionist quickly checking in with us and providing a clear orientation of the space. She pointed out the studio and changing rooms, confirmed the booked class, and even offered a towel and water bottle.
After class, the farewell could have been warmer. While the receptionist was helpful in answering our questions and discussing package options, she didn’t ask how the class went or encourage us to return.

The Class Experience
The Class Experience was impressive and has received The Fit Guide Class Experience Award of Excellence.
The class at 1Rebel High Street Kensington was high energy from the very start. The coach welcomed us warmly with a handshake and set the tone nicely, reassuring us that it was fine to take things at our own pace, or even just move to the music. The induction was clear and detailed, showing us all the equipment, how to use it, and exactly where we needed to be, so we felt relaxed and prepared.
Once the class kicked off, the energy stayed high. The instructions were clear and easy to follow, the music kept the atmosphere fun, and options were offered for different fitness levels. The session flowed seamlessly, and even when a minor issue cropped up, it was handled smoothly without breaking the rhythm. While there wasn’t much personal coaching on technique or individual encouragement during the workout, the structure made it easy to stay on track and fully enjoy the session.
The class was wrapped up with a warm send-off and a fist bump. The energy, clarity, and positivity made it an engaging and genuinely fun experience.

The Equipment And Studio
The studio and equipment made a strong impression during our visit with their high standard of upkeep and thoughtful layout. All the strength and cardio machines were clean, and the space itself felt fresh and inviting. While two treadmills weren’t fully operational, there was still plenty of equipment available for us all, with a wide range of weights to suit all levels.
The lighting in the studio added a nice vibe to the workout space, and the sound system delivered banging tunes throughout the class. Branding touches were present on items like the benches.

The Facilities And Public Areas
The public areas made a strong impact from the moment we arrived, with a striking exterior that felt like stepping up to an old-fashioned cinema, complete with bold black lettering and glowing lights. Inside, the mix of exposed brick, industrial lighting, and leather seating created a striking and bold vibe. There was a clear sense of the brand throughout, and framed studio photos tying it all together. The lavender scent from the chilled towels downstairs was a nice touch, adding calmness to the buzz of activity.
The waiting areas upstairs and downstairs were comfortable, with plenty of soft seating and a relaxed atmosphere. Changing and grooming areas carried through the industrial style, with digital screens, steel and brass fixtures, and attractively presented amenities like deodorant, hairspray, and hair products. Space was a little tight in the changing room, with only one small bench and limited mirror space, but overall it was tidy and well-kept.
Showers and bathrooms were in good nick with consistent hot water. Both workout and shower towels were free, with sweat towels rolled neatly on shelves and chilled lavender-scented towels in a fridge. There was a smoothie bar and complimentary water available.
Digital And Technology
The digital experience at 1Rebel Kensington stood out, with a seamless booking system and a bold, polished online presence. Booking a class was quick and intuitive through both the website and branded app. Arrival expectations were clearly explained, and we appreciated that as first-timers we were given guidance to arrive early for an induction.
The website reflected the brand’s energetic, design-led identity with strong visuals, consistent tone, and smart features like a “3 Sessions for £49” promotion and an up-to-date blog. Class schedules, instructor bios, and key information were easy to find. Social media included striking photography and regular posts.
Technology went a step further with the branded app’s “My Rebel Stats” feature, allowing us to track sessions, calories, and hours trained.
