The Victus Soul Story

Victus Soul was founded in 2018 by Paul Trendell and Chris Djuric who, after running a chain of énergie gym franchises together, teamed up to create a premium boutique HIIT concept. The founders built the Victus Soul method to offer a deeper approach to recovery, seeing that this was something missing in the London market.

Their vision was to create a community space where members felt comfortable hanging out after their workout. Their brand currently stands at one location in Aldgate, London, which has a striking and unique industrial design.

How Did Victus Soul Score Overall?

The full client experience at Victus Soul was impressive, achieving The Fit Guide 4-Star Award.

The class experience was notable and also achieved our Recommended rating.

The Highlights

The equipment and studio were top-notch, with branded, high-quality gear and distinctive branding elements. There was also a strong community vibe evident.

What Our Evaluator Had To Say

“The induction was personalized and thorough, and left me feeling ready and excited for the session.”

“One of the receptionists were especially friendly. She knew it was my first time and really went out of her way to give me a warm welcome.”

“I liked the candles in reception - they helped create a unique vibe!”

What To Expect From A Victus Soul HIIT & RUN Session

Victus Soul’s HIIT & RUN classes are either 40, 50 or 60 minutes long. The class is for all levels and is split between treadmill interval running and strength work.

The running component takes place on high-end Woodway treadmills and mixes up endurance running, sprints and ‘sled pushes’, which involve holding onto the treadmill and powering the belt with just your legs.

The strength component takes place on a Fitbench, which has dumbbells built in alongside other strength tools, with a balanced program that targets all muscle groups.

Sessions are differentiated by Upper Body, Lower Body & Core and Full Body.

The Reception Service

Our pre-visit call to the branch was excellent, the staff member was helpful, knowledgeable and led the conversation well. After the call, we felt excited and ready to attend our class.

In the club, both receptionists we engaged with were very friendly and made us feel at ease, and appeared to be making an extra effort to welcome us as a first timer to the studio. The team were comfortable talking about the packages afterwards, but didn’t ask any questions to establish our needs.

The Class Experience

Victus Soul received our Recommended rating for the Class Experience.

The experience started well, with a personalised induction to show us the ropes and what to expect in the session. Throughout the session, our coach appeared energised and was encouraging everyone to push themselves.

More guidance on the class structure and a clear, visible timer would have helped make it a smoother experience.

The Equipment And Studio

The studio was very clean and felt fresh. A few nice branding elements enhanced the space, such as the Victus Soul logos on the benches. The treadmills were high end, from Woodway.

The Facilities And Public Areas

Workout and shower towels were provided free of charge. Lockers were provided with number locks. Free water refill stations were available.

Overall the public areas were spacious, and clean. The candles in reception were a really nice touch, and everywhere had a fresh feel.

Digital And Technology

The website is designed professionally, easy to navigate and has all the necessary features such as the timetable and coaches' bios. Also, the brand’s social media channels are regularly updated with fun and informative content. There was no element of technology as part of the group class concept.

Victus Soul offers two introductory deals for first-time clients. Newcomers can enjoy a one-off session for a special price of £14 or three classes for £45.

If you’re looking for a longer-term commitment, memberships are available from £80 for five classes per month up to £220 for unlimited classes, including reformer classes, or £179 per month for unlimited classes, excluding reformer classes.
