The Nobu Pilates Story

Nobu Pilates was founded in 2021 as part of the Nobu Hotel Group. The concept was created by Nobu Hotel Group’s creative director, Marsha Lindsay - an established instructor with a background in both mat and reformer pilates.

Nobu Pilates recently won best Pilates studio in the London Tatler Gym Awards 2023.

How Did Nobu Pilates Score Overall?

The full client experience at Nobu Pilates was notable, achieving our Recommended rating.

The class was a highlight of the visit, winning our Class Experience 4-Star Class Experience Award.

The Highlights

The combination of the professional coach and the nicely designed studio space really offered the feeling that this was a premium Pilates class and experience.

What Our Evaluator Had To Say

“The coach was attentive to the class and informative about form and posture.”

“When I arrived, the coach immediately greeted me and spoke to me about what to expect and my pilates experience.”

“The coach made sure each of the clients had everything they needed throughout the workout.”

What To Expect From A Nobu Pilates Session

Nobu Pilates offers 50 minute reformer Pilates classes in three formats: Precision, a complete body workout; Pure, offering a more traditional approach to the original method; and Prescribed, with more one-on-one attention.

Each class is limited to just 10 people to allow for a more personalized experience.

The Reception Service

Our pre-visit call to the branch was excellent, with the staff clearly and explaining everything we needed to know to have a great first session.

The reception staff answered all our questions competently, but more warmth and enthusiasm would have helped improve the interaction. The staff were comfortable discussing the packages and training options.

The Class Experience

Nobu Pilates received The Fit Guide 4-Star Class Experience Award, making it one of London’s stand-out offerings.

Our instructor was very attentive to the small and intimate class. She was informative about form, posture and where in the body the stretch should be felt and clearly had a deep understanding of Pilates. More personal interactions would have helped deepen the coach to client connection.

The Equipment And Studio

The equipment in the studio was clean and of excellent quality. The coach made sure we had everything we needed at the different stages of the workout. The look and feel of the studio was highly impressive, and was at a comfortable temperature.

The Facilities And Public Areas

Workout and shower towels were provided free of charge. Lockers were provided with number locks. Free water refill stations were available.

The space overall had a very nice look and feel to it. This was extended to the changing rooms, but they were a little tight on space. Everything was clean and in good condition.

Digital And Technology

The booking experience was hassle free, although more information provided by email during the booking process would have helped make it a smoother experience. Also, the website was designed mostly for the hotel element of the Nobu business, which made it somewhat difficult to find information regarding the Pilates concept.

Pricing

Nobu Pilates sells its classes on a class pack basis, so if you are looking for a longer-term deal the best option is the 20-pack of classes for £620. Shorter term commitments are also available, starting with the five-pack of sessions priced at £175.

Drop-in sessions are available at the studio for £37, as well as the ability to hire the studio privately for £400 per hour during peak times.
