What To Expect From A House of Fitness Session
A House of Fitness session provides an intense and well-structured workout in a quick 45-minute window. The main class offerings include House Work, a holistic class that combines “Strength, Conditioning and Mobility” and House of Fitness’ trademark Strength sessions.
Both classes are programmed with the aim “to improve the way you look, feel, and perform” and will target different muscle groups throughout the week, so you can attend frequently without suffering from soreness.
The Reception Service
The House of Fitness reception experience had a really warm, approachable vibe that set the tone for the visit. On the phone, the staff member was upbeat and chatty, leading the conversation with genuine curiosity about training goals and sharing details about the six-week plan.
At the studio, the friendly welcome continued. We were greeted with a big smile, checked in quickly, and offered an orientation, pointing out the changing area and lockers.
After class, reception staff kept the engagement going, asking how our session went and chatting through package options. They explained the six-week programme confidently, shared stories to make it relatable, and even offered to answer follow-up questions via WhatsApp. The whole interaction felt natural and genuine, and left us feeling motivated to continue training.
The Class Experience
House of Fitness Old Street has achieved The Fit Guide 5-star Class Experience award for an outstanding class, putting it amongst the very best in London and the industry.
The class experience at House of Fitness was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment the session began, our coach brought a burst of energy and positivity that instantly set the tone for the workout. A warm introduction helped everyone feel welcome, and clear demonstrations made the structure of the session easy to follow. The pace felt spot-on, with the right mix of guidance and motivation that kept the class moving smoothly and confidently.
Throughout the workout, there was constant engagement and support. The coach moved around the room, offering thoughtful corrections and quiet encouragement when needed—like giving a few extra tips on technique to help participants refine their form. Motivation was steady and genuine, especially during the tougher moments of the session, and clever regressions were offered so every client could take part comfortably, no matter their level.
The class wrapped up on a high note, with an easy-paced cooldown that brought the energy down while still leaving everyone feeling accomplished. A friendly check-in after the session showed genuine care, and the coach remained available to answer questions and chat with clients. It was a class that blended professionalism, passion, and personal attention.
The coach’s energy and passion combined with a strong sense of community to complete a true five-star class experience.
The Equipment And Studio
The studio at House of Fitness made a strong impression from the start. The single training space felt spacious and fit-for-purpose, with a clean, polished look that created an inviting atmosphere. Natural light streaming in through glass panels, combined with subtle under-step lighting, gave the room a thoughtful and energizing vibe. The sound system added to the experience, filling the space with high-energy music that matched the pace of the class.
All of the equipment hit the mark for quality and presentation. From the Bulldog Gear and Concept2 cardio pieces to the wide selection of weights, everything was in excellent condition and ready to go. There was plenty of kit for every level, and it was well-stocked, organized, and neatly spaced out, making it easy for us to move confidently between exercises.

The Facilities And Public Areas
The public areas at House of Fitness felt clean, tidy, and thoughtfully designed, with smart use of the available space. The unisex locker room offered individual shower cubicles with small benches, providing a balance of privacy and comfort. The overall design theme carried through nicely, with monochrome tones, dimmed lighting, and branded signage helping to create a cohesive feel.
Lockers were well-sized, though we needed to bring our own padlock. Shower towels could be rented for £1, and the showers themselves delivered strong pressure and reliably hot water. Thoughtful lighting around mirrors and the inclusion of GHD hairdryers added a touch of quality.
Free water was only available from taps in the locker room.
Digital And Technology
Booking a class at House of Fitness was straightforward via both the website and branded app.
The website itself was strong, offering a well-branded design that matched the club’s results-driven ethos. It provided clear class descriptions, schedules, and coach bios, making it easy to learn about what to expect. Social media, particularly Instagram, was another highlight, with frequent posts that captured the studio vibe and reflected the in-class experience well.
