“I enjoyed the feel of the public areas, which had a relaxed atmosphere.”
What To Expect From A BXR Climb To The Beat Session
BXR’s signature Versaclimber class, Climb To The Beat, has made a huge impact on the London fitness scene since its launch. The 45-minute workout is an energetic and fun experience guided by charismatic and motivating coaches, with climbers moving in time with the music. The intensity varies with the pace of the music, which is blasted out on a high-end sound system. Coaches are mic’d up to ensure you can hear their guidance and instruction.
The Versaclimber offers a low-impact, full body workout that can be adjusted for all levels. If you stay on the bear, you’ll be dripping in sweat afterwards.
The Reception Service
Our pre-visit call to the branch was handled by a friendly and helpful receptionist who confidently answered all of our questions, making us feel prepared and excited for our visit.
The service was strong on arrival, with the staff giving a warm welcome and a thorough verbal orientation. On departure, more of an effort could have been made to connect with us, and talk us through the packages and training options.
The Class Experience
BXR Marylebone received The Fit Guide 4-Star Class Experience Award, making it one of London’s stand-out offerings.
Our instructor brought great energy and a fun vibe to the class. She was motivating, helpful and offered words of encouragement throughout the class, both to the whole group and also individually.
The instructor did a great job of explaining the Versaclimber and how it works, without it affecting the flow of the class for the regulars. It was, however, a little hard to hear some of instructions through the sound system.
The Equipment And Studio
The instructor cleverly adjusted the lighting to signify higher or lower intensity, which was both encouraging and fun. The space was clean, but our Versaclimber for the session had some wear and tear.
The Facilities And Public Areas
Workout and shower towels were provided free of charge. Lockers were provided with number locks. Free water refill stations were available.
The public areas were a real stand-out, with nice interior design, artwork on the walls and a Joe and the Juice for a post-workout smoothie. Music was playing at a low volume throughout the club, which added to the atmosphere.
The steam room and sauna rounded off the five-star facilities.
Digital And Technology
The website looked slick, was easy to navigate, and contained lots of relevant information. Social media channels contained high-quality content that was on-brand.
