What to Expect From A 1Rebel Ride Session
A Ride session at 1Rebel Southbank is a true spectacle unmatched in the industry. The room holds around 75 bikes and is more auditorium than fitness studio, with an upper level overlooking the other riders and instructor. Lazers, lights, a ridiculous sound system and a hydraulic stage that moves up and down all combine to round off a truly unique cycling experience.
For the workout, expect cycling to the beat of the music on high-end Technogym bikes.

The Reception Service
The phone enquiry was handled smoothly, with a clear and confident tone that set a positive first impression. The conversation flowed naturally, and the information shared was thorough and well-structured, leaving us feeling fully prepared for the visit.
On arrival, the greeting felt flat and transactional; we weren’t acknowledged as first-time guests and were given minimal guidance about where to go. This created a slightly awkward start.
On departure, the farewell was polite but lacked any real spark. Our questions were answered, but there was no effort to extend the interaction or encourage us to return.

The Class Experience
1Rebel Southbank has received our Class Experience Recommended Rating.
The class had a fun, high-energy feel from start to finish, with clear instructions, upbeat music, and a smooth flow that kept the momentum going. The coach’s enthusiasm was infectious, and the structured cooldown wrapped things up on a positive note.
There were, however, a few gaps that left us feeling a little disappointed The induction assumed some prior knowledge, which made the setup a little unclear for a first-time visitor, and there was limited one-on-one engagement during and after the session.
The coach’s warm tone and positive energy made the class enjoyable overall; however, striking a good balance between guidance and encouragement without ever feeling pushy.

The Equipment And Studio
The studio packed a lot of atmosphere into a compact space. Its stage-like design, complete with all-black walls, rigged lighting, and smoke and mist effects, made the workout feel like a performance. Despite its size, there was enough room for everyone to move comfortably and safely.
Equipment was generally in good condition, with clean, professional-quality weights and fully stocked racks. However, the cardio setup showed some cracks – one bike had loose handles, and the bikes themselves were basic with no digital features.
The dramatic lighting added to the club’s signature vibe but came with one practical downside: it was so dim that we noticed some riders struggling to find their bike numbers, leading to some awkward fumbling (and even the need for phone torches).

The Facilities And Public Areas
The public spaces at the club felt bold and meticulously designed, with an industrial edge that gave them a distinctive personality. White breeze blocks, copper-toned lockers, and metal scaffolding combined to create a striking aesthetic, while consistent branding was evident everywhere—from signage to reusable bottles and even the entrance mat. Upbeat music and a lavender scent nicely tied the environment together.
We were impressed by the changing rooms with branded lockers and a video screen promoting current offers, while amenities like hairspray, moisturiser, and cotton pads were neatly displayed and well-stocked.
Little touches, like free towels (with workout towels waiting on bikes and shower towels offered at reception) and a smoothie bar serving drinks and snacks, elevated the experience further.

Digital And Technology
Booking a class was super simple thanks to the sleek website, which matched the brand’s bold, high-energy identity. The schedule was easy to find, class descriptions were clear, and all the essential details for first-time visitors were clearly explained. The branded app made managing bookings just as straightforward, with the bonus of tracking stats like calories burned and total sessions completed.
The online presence had a strong, consistent look, with social media channels reflecting the same aesthetic as the website and showcasing life inside the studios. Posts were frequent and visually on-brand.
