What to Expect From A Boxica Session
Boxica is a multi-concept fitness studio that’s designed to cater to all levels. The class concepts include Boxing & Full Body, which is 10 rounds of boxing-inspired fitness work on water bags; Sweat, which is a cardio-focused calorie burner; Strength, which is all about lifting and Ride, which is their music-based cycling session.
The Reception Service
Our pre-visit phone calls to the club went unanswered.
On arrival at the club, we were met with a team of reception staff. One receptionist was particularly friendly and offered us a warm welcome and an introduction to the concept. After the session, the same staff member stepped in to help us with package options.
The Class Experience
Boxica received The Fit Guide 4-Star Class Experience Award, making it one of Dubai’s stand-out offerings.
The coach did so many things right, including superb before and after-class service and interactions. During the class, she was fun and clear in her delivery. The community vibe was very strong in the club, with one member jumping in to help us set up our gloves properly.
The Equipment And Studio
The equipment and studio were very high-end and a highlight of the visit. The lighting effects helped create a good atmosphere and the sound system was high quality, helping us hear the music and also the coach's instructions over the mic. Some equipment appeared to be tailor-made, such as benches that had a soft top for exercises and dumbbells stored in each one.
The Facilities And Public Areas
Neither workout nor shower towels were provided. Lockers were provided with number locks. Free water refill stations were available.
The public areas were very attractive and eye-catching, with interesting graffiti-style artwork and signed Boxica gloves from well-known boxers, such as Anthony Joshua. The changing rooms were basic but had some nice design elements.
Digital And Technology
The website was very informative and designed in an easy-to-navigate way. The club’s social media channels were updated regularly with high-quality content that provided us with deep insight into what we could expect from our first session. Checking in through an iPad rather than a staff member worked well and facilitated a smooth start.
Pricing
Boxica offers an introductory deal for first-time clients. Newcomers can enjoy 10 days of unlimited sessions for the special price of 300AED.
If you’re looking for a longer-term commitment, unlimited memberships are available from 599AED for a Ride only membership, up to 949AED for an all-access membership.
Drop-in sessions are available at 125AED per class, with smaller commitment packages also available, starting at a five-pack for 525AED.
