Akasa Wellness - Dubai Media City

Dubai, United Arab Emirates

The Akasa Wellness Story

Akasa Wellness was founded by Talita Pablos in 2023 in Dubai; the recently opened club now serves as a hub for yoga and Pilates enthusiasts in Dubai’s Media City. The brand’s vision focuses on creating a nurturing space that helps facilitate clients on their health and wellness journey.

Pablos describes “the increasing significance of self-care and the necessity to embrace a new mindset centered on wellness and sustainability” as a key inspiration for the founding of Akasa Wellness. The brand’s studio bears the name "Akasa," meaning "space" in Sanskrit, a nod to one of the 5 elements of nature.

How Did Akasa Wellness Score Overall?

The full client experience at Akasa Wellness was excellent, achieving The Fit Guide 4-Star Award.

The class was also very strong, winning our 4-Star Class Experience Award.

The Highlights

The class was small and intimate, with our instructor able to spend plenty of time focusing on individual technique. A highlight of the session was that the coach took the time to teach us why she was correcting our form, helping us develop a deeper understanding of the practice.

What Our Evaluator Had To Say

“The coach was friendly and attentive throughout the whole session.”

“The decor of the reception space was beautiful and burning incense contributed to a very calm vibe overall.”

“The receptionist's warm service both before and after the class left a strong impression.”

What to Expect From An Akasa Wellness Pilates Session

Akasa Wellness was designed to create a sanctuary amidst a concrete jungle, offering a place where you can reconnect with yourself and improve your health and wellness. Their training options include a mix of both traditional and modern yoga and Pilates offerings that cater to all levels of fitness.

Pilates class types include reformer options for different levels, as well as Reformer Core and Posture. Mat Pilates options include Flexibility and Pilates Strength and Alignment.

The Reception Service

Our phone call to the club was answered on the first attempt and handled by a polite and professional staff member.

On arrival, the reception area was bright and welcoming. The decor was creative and serene and the burning of incense sticks added to the vibe. The team was very proactive in helping us find the studio and parking and, once we arrived, a staff member swiftly handled check-in and payment and offered us a coffee while we waited. After the class, the staff discussed packages and answered questions professionally.

The Class Experience

Akasa Wellness received The Fit Guide 4-Star Class Experience Award, making it one of Dubai’s stand-out offerings.

The class was intimate with a high focus on ensuring correct form and technique was followed by all, with constant attention given and, where needed, adjustments offered. The structure of the session was easy to follow with good flow and tempo.

The Equipment And Studio

The small studio space consisted of four reformer machines and was clean, bright and spacious enough for the class. The wallpaper was striking in design and the large mirror allowed us to analyse our technique. A large cabinet displayed enough stability balls, bands, blocks and weights for everyone.

The Facilities And Public Areas

Shower towels were free of charge but workout towels were not provided. Lockers were provided with number locks. Free water refill stations were not available.

Neutral, natural colors and materials were used throughout the public areas which created a strong sense of place and brand. The wicker baskets, seats and lockers, hanging plants and ceramic ornaments all complemented each other. The design gave an overall sense of calm and serenity.

Digital And Technology

The website was extremely detailed and provided our evaluator with all the information they required. Booking functionality on the website was great and the club also offered our evaluator the option to sign up for their class through Whatsapp.
