A Hollywood Landmark Reimagined
Los Angeles has no shortage of impressive gyms. But few combine architecture, hospitality, and training the way HEIMAT does.
Set inside a restored 1930s Hollywood building, the club blends serious fitness with the atmosphere of a private members club. The concept comes from the German-born HEIMAT brand, which set out to create a place where training, wellness, work, and social life all sit under one roof.
The result is a space that feels more like a lifestyle destination than a traditional gym.
Five Floors of Fitness and Lifestyle
HEIMAT spreads across five floors, each dedicated to a different part of the member experience. The training floor alone covers around 7,000 square feet and features custom strength equipment designed for serious lifting.
Members also have access to multiple boutique studios, including spaces for Reformer Pilates, yoga, cycling, bootcamp, and Kinesis training. Each studio runs its own programming, giving the club the feel of several boutique concepts operating within one building.
The Rooftop That Everyone Talks About
At the top of the club sits one of the most recognizable features in LA fitness. The rooftop pool and jacuzzi overlook the Hollywood skyline, creating a setting that feels as much hotel resort as training facility.
Members often move between workouts and the terrace, turning recovery and social time into part of the experience.
Wellness, Spa and Recovery
Recovery plays a big role in the club’s offering. A boutique spa sits within the facility alongside relaxation rooms and premium locker facilities. The goal is to give members a place to reset after intense training sessions, rather than leaving immediately after their workout.
The result is a space where people often spend hours, rather than a quick visit.
Training Meets Hospitality
Food and social spaces are also central to the concept. Members can move from workouts to meals without leaving the building.
Alongside the restaurant are co-working lounges, library rooms, and relaxed social areas.
Design That Drives the Experience
Interior design plays a major role in the club’s identity. Berlin design studio Inco Media created the fitness environments, while hospitality designer Martin Brudnizki shaped many of the social areas.
Every detail is built around the idea that the space should look and feel as impressive as the training itself.
A Gym, Members Club and Lifestyle Space in One
HEIMAT reflects a wider shift in premium fitness. The most ambitious clubs are moving beyond traditional gyms and building environments where people train, work, eat and socialize in the same place.
In a city known for big concepts and bold design, HEIMAT has managed to carve out a distinct position.
