Rise Nation - NoHo

New York City, USA

The Rise Nation Story

Rise Nation was founded by Jason Walsh in West Hollywood, California in 2015. Jason trained celebrities and movie stars for their roles at his private studio, Rise Movement, before coming up with the Versaclimber class concept. Mark Cuban quickly became a fan of the natural movement patterns that climbing promotes, as well as the slick and sexy vibe of the class experience. This led him to become a partner as Rise Nation expanded to other US cities and countries.

Rise Nation are expanding through a franchise business model and now has four studios in the US, as well as a single studio presence in both the Philippines and Australia.

What Our Evaluator Had To Say

“This was a really enjoyable and high-energy class, led by a passionate and professional coach.”

“The coach made a special effort to chat to the first timers and make them feel welcome and at ease.”

“There were notice boards showing upcoming events, giving a real sense of community.”

What To Expect From A Rise Nation Session

Rise Nation is a 30-minute high intensity interval training class on a Versaclimber. The retro cardio machine has seen a big comeback in recent years, in large part due to its low-impact, fun nature that engages all major muscle groups.

Climbing provides a fun, effective and efficient workout, and Rise Nation have added the coaching team, the lights, and the sound into the mix to create one of the industry’s most unique fitness experiences.

The Reception Service

The reception team were warm mannered and welcoming on arrival and thoughtfully followed up after the class to see how our evaluator had enjoyed it. There was no orientation of the space, however, and we would have appreciated a post-class offer to book into another session or help us continue our training.

More personalization from the reception team during arrival and departure would have helped elevate the client experience.

The Class Experience

Rise Nation has achieved The Fit Guide 5-Star Class Experience ward for an exceptional class, putting it amongst the very best in New York and the industry.

This was a really enjoyable and high energy class, led by a professional coach. She helped the first timers get set up on the machine and provided a clear induction on correct form and the class structure. There was a real sense of togetherness and community.

The Equipment And Studio

The equipment and studio was all in perfect condition. The training area had very impressive strobe and colored lighting effects on the curved ceiling that flashed in time to the music. In a masterful final touch, our instructor helped synchronize our movement on the Versaclimber to the beat.

The Facilities And Public Areas

We found the changing areas to be nicely designed and branding elements were noted throughout the facility. Whilst there were ample showers available, the amenity selection was more basic and towels were only available to purchase. Interesting artwork on the walls gave the space a unique, distinctive look, and plants on the counter brought an air of freshness.

Workout and shower towels were provided free of charge. Lockers were provided with number locks. Free water refill stations were available.

Digital And Technology

We found the website to be user-friendly and contained information and imagery on the science, the workout, and the environment. There was a strong online brand presence but our social media messages went answered.
